Special teams were a tire fire and that's the main reason they lost.

The offense didn't help. Everyone fell in love with them after 72 points last week and record setting yardage. They did exactly what they should have done against Missouri State. It wasn't a real test. This was. They failed.

I won't bury the season yet. I understand some will. Many viewed this as a must win and I understand why. I've said all along they have to be 3-1 coming out of September. I'll admit that looks unbelievably unlikely. But I'll wait two more weeks to see. Kentucky is awful beatable too and I'm not sure Arkansas is any good. So I won't end the season now. But anything more than seven wins is pretty much out the window, I think.

The ray of light I'll give you is this: The defense was horrid last week. It was much, much better this week. 90% of coaching happens between Sunday and Friday. They did a pretty decent job there this week. They played like dirt offensively and on special teams and I'm not trying to give the coaches a pass by any means, but they did fix a lot of problems in the last six days. Maybe, just maybe, they can fix some more.

We'll see. Videos, photos, notes on the front page. Brian's got one more story coming, grade card in the morning, 3-2-1 midday. Take out your frustrations as I am sure you have been and we'll catch up with you later.
