Plenty more stuff to come, but while I'm waiting for photos to upload, figured I'd knock this out.
It's not real complex this week. I can't remember an in season turnaround like this. This team was dead. The fans had quit. This year (and probably more than that) was over. Except then it wasn't. Over and over when you guys begged for a hot board and names of replacements and such, I told you that fans can fire guys mid-season, but media shouldn't and athletic directors shouldn't. And this is why. Because even as unlikely as it looked at the time, the possibility existed that they could save this. And they did.
And as much blame as Barry Odom and his staff deserve for being 1-5 and being in that hole (and yes, they do deserve some), they deserve that much credit for getting back. Because we've watched two teams that have quit in the middle of games and middle of seasons the last two weeks. And Missouri didn't do that.
Four weeks ago, people that talked about a bowl game were silly. Not now. You're now one win away with two chances to get there. Missouri should be favored in each of the last two games. Neither team they play can score enough to keep up with them and suddenly the defense has some confidence. In fact, I'd say as of today, Missouri is the second best team in the SEC East. They won't finish there, but they're better than Kentucky as of today.
You want hope for the future? I give you this:
Larry Rountree
A healthy Damarea Crockett
Emanuel Hall
Albert O
Kendall Blanton
The offensive line
Chris Turner
Tre Williams
Cale Garrett
Terez Hall
Brandon Lee
Adam Sparks
Joshuah Bledsoe
Demarkus Acy
A healthy Christian Holmes
Jamal Brooks
Aubrey Miller
Tyree Gillespie
They're all playing significant roles and they're all back next year. Assuming Drew Lock joins them, next year could be quite a bit of fun.
Enjoy it. Rest of our coverage is going up soon. Grade card and 3-2-1 and hopefully some recruit reactions tomorrow. Hoops Monday night. Nashville next weekend. Thanks for reading.
