Not gonna read a ton into this. There will be plenty of times to be negative this season, so I don't see a need to do it after a 55-point win. Missouri did what it should have done, and maybe more, to this team. They weren't good, Missouri shot it well, they won big and that was fun.

Frankie Hughes looked great. He has no conscience as a shooter. There will be nights that might not be a good thing, but tonight he was lights out, matching the biggest freshman debut ever by some dude they called Stipo.

Willie Jackson is playing as a four now and he was near a double double with a highlight reel putback dunk. He'll be the dirty work guy for this team and, at least until Jordan Barnett gets eligible, the best interview.

Last year, so much was on Kevin Puryear and Terrence Phillips. Hopefully this team will allow some of the pressure to be off those guys. They were just bit players tonight. There will be nights Mizzou needs more out of them, but this wasn't one.

Russell Woods looks a lot stronger and at least tonight looked a lot better. But he scored nine in the opener last year, so I'm not building a statue just yet.

Good to see Cullen Van leer hit three shots. That didn't happen much last year.

Xavier is a hell of a stiff test for this team. I wouldn't expect a win. If they could keep it under ten most of the game, that would be a good sign IMO. 2-1 needs to be the goal in Orlando. It's not a great tournament. If they can not get embarrassed by Xavier and manage to beat Davidson or Clemson and whoever they play in the fifth place game, that would be a successful trip. I picked them to go 1-2 down there, so 2-1 would be progress.

Photos and video on the front page, I'm out.
