Okay, first I'm not gonna blow smoke up your asses and say "Maybe this is good for them because they get time to rest and MPJ gets time to practice." No. You were supposed to win this game.

Michael Porter Jr. wasn't very good. At least there's an explanation for it.

Kassius Robertson was not good. Missouri has trouble winning when that's true.

Kevin Puryear fouled at a rate that made Jeremiah Tilmon jealous.

Tilmon was decent when he was in the game but not a difference maker.

The only thing I can say about Jordan Barnett is that we have a complete photo gallery and we had two pictures of him...one of which was him trying to get a rebound after the buzzer. Just a disappearing act. Which is not unusual.

Jordan Geist wasn't great, but given that we don't know how he felt, I didn't think he was terrible.

Missouri had to play Brett Rau meaningful minutes in the SEC Tournament. Part of that's depth and part is whistles. But that's a tough spot to be in. Cuonzo Martin was constantly searching for the guy he could put on the floor with the fewest fouls.

Jontay Porter was the team. He was the only one that turned in a better than "serviceable" effort. And it was much better. Man he's playing well.

Basketball isn't complex. When you can't shoot, you're gonna lose. And outside of Porter and Tilmon, Missouri couldn't shoot today. The one good thing is that Cuonzo Martin designed a perfect end of game inbounds play and Missouri executed it perfectly...until the shot didn't go in. And that kind of summed up the day.

I thought the game turned on three places:

1. Missouri led 10-0. They needed to put Georgia away. They needed to be up 15 at half. They weren't even ahead at all four minutes and 28 seconds later. At that point, Georgia believed it could win. Opportunity lost.

2. Missouri was down four. Jordan Geist had an open layup. He left it short. Georgia didn't extend the lead, but that would have made it a two point game with 2:29 to play.

3. Missouri was down one when Michael Porter Jr. missed a three that I thought was a bad shot (I thought maybe he was trying to play hero a little bit). But Kassius Robertson was under the bucket and had a wide open tip in. And didn't make it. You have to make that shot. Would have given Missouri the lead with 13 seconds left. It didn't.

This loss doesn't take Mizzou out of the tournament (good thing they beat Vandy and Arkansas). I think they'll be a nine seed. They could slip to the ten, which wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. We'll see where it goes on Sunday night.

We're gonna grab some food and head back to CoMo. Vent away, but we won't be on the boards much.
