Mizzou football coaching legend Gary Pinkel was the guest speaker today at the Tiger Club of Kansas City luncheon.
Pinkel is the winningest football coach in the history of two programs: the University of Toledo (1991-2000) and Mizzou (2001-2015). At MU, his teams went 118-73 with five Big 12 and SEC division championships and a bowl-game appearance in 10 of his 15 seasons. Along with Dave Matter, MU beat writer for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Pinkel is the author of The 100-Yard Journey: A Life in Coaching and Battling for the Win. The book’s forward was written by Alabama coach Nick Saban, a former teammate of Pinkel at Kent State.
The Tiger Club of KC meets every Tuesday at the Westport Flea Market Bar and Grill. Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. with the program beginning at Noon. Our Tuesday, February 20 guest will be Alex Schiffer, who teams with Aaron Reiss to cover the Mizzou beat for the Kansas City Star.
