I know some people were following along with the college basketball empire map last season. They are doing one for college football this season.
Basically, every FBS team starts with a territory. Territories are decided by by which school is closest in straight-line distance to the geometric center of each county. When you beat a team with land, you take their land.
Here is where things stand after week two: https://www.sbnation.com/2018/9/10/17838508/college-football-imperialism-map-week-2
Unfortunately for Mizzou, they won't have an opportunity to expand their territory until they play UGA in Week 4. If Wyoming had beaten Wazzu, we would have a ton of land right now. Eastern Michigan beating Purdue also takes away the opportunity to grab some land against Purdue this weekend.
Anyways, it's sort of a fun feature to follow along with. Thought I would share.
