Five years ago, there were 24 new head coaches entering the 2011 season. Where are they now?
Of the 24…
- Only five coaches are still in the same job
- Six were hired to head coaching jobs elsewhere.
- Nine were dismissed, and two interim coaches didn’t get the permanent job.
- Two coaches stepped down on their own, either for an assistant job or for health reasons.
here are the 5 survivors;
Dana Holgorsen (WVa) - might be on life support
Mark Hudspeth (LaLaU)- program just placed on probation, was 4-8 in 2015
Rock Long (SDSU)
David Shaw (Stanford)
Kevin Wilson (IU) - might be in trouble if the wheels fall off in 2016
I find it interesting that 3 of the 5 were P-5 coordinators hired into P 5 programs (Wilson, Shaw, Holgorsen)
