Shoutout to Locked on Mizzou for the All22 ish footage. I would pay good money for this to be available widespread for college football.
Play #3: 1/2 hitch early lets the hook/curl defender play #3 and #1.
1:50 Mark: 2 routes end up on top of each other but the 1st/deepest wheel is breaking open as he decides to check down.
2:00 - Same design as play 3. Tad late and tad high but you'd like to see #1 make the play. Had Luther in more space on play 3.
2:07 - Probably just how they read this play and I don't hate Cook's decision. Pretty good ball. Post is a touchdown.
2:26 - Layered boot. Again, I assume this is how they read this play, especially on 3rd and short but both the intermediate and deep outs are going to be open.
2:36 - Boundary screen w/bad blocking by #1. Otherwise set up nice for an easy 4-6.
2:54 - Love this. #3 over the middle. Really nice throw.
3:03 - Follows his 2nd best throw of the night up with the worst of the night. Late to the correct route.
3:11 - Just not 100% comfortable over the middle. #1 breaks open for an easy 10 yards on what would have been a similar but easier throw as his TD.
3:27 - Horrific angle by the safety. "A" gap pressure makes BC's feet a little late. Good read but 1/2 hitch late makes it really close with an FCS guy.
3:47 - Good decision. Read through well.
4:03 - Motion lets him know its man, $ depth lets him know its Man free 2 high. Probably knew he had an easy 10 as he catches the snap. Nice play.
All in all I would give him a B-. Left a few out there, but overall I continue to see improvement out of him. Some of the deep stuff he is missing or throwing underneath a little early reminds me of Alex Smith. Some guys just see football differently than others. I think BC can be good enough to win games with as long as he eliminates the big mistakes and the defense is good.
Rooting for him.
