Can we please stop acting like every coordinator is Barry Odom? Don’t get me wrong a first-time HC will have a learning curve and might make some mistakes. So will the experienced HC who we could realistically get. We aren’t getting some stud experienced head coach. The question is whether we find a coordinator or experienced head coach who can learn from his mistakes and prevent them from happening again.
Odom made some mistakes that no football coach should make. Not saying he was awful, but every coach should run the ball versus Kentucky or run an offense that actually gives your poor defense rest (Heupel) plus many others that we all know.
The question is not whether our next HC makes mistakes, it’s whether he learns from them and doesn’t repeat them. So let’s find whoever that guy is, be it a head coach or coordinator.
