Heard the country singer with the big bar in Nashville John Rich this morning. He wasn’t whining so much as just pointing out the arbitrary and the silliness of the administration’s current approach.
He talked about a cross country plane trip in which the airline filled every seat on the large jet. Passengers were instructed to wear their mask except when eating or drinking. If eating or drinking they could lower their mask briefly to take a bite or sip and then put it back in place to chew.
Now when they land the pilot comes over intercom and explains that “Federal law requires that you maintain 6 feet of social distance while leaving the plane and entering the terminal.
So he said he and his band had a gig in Cabo. He cancelled it because the US would require a several day quarantine in Mexico if any of the group tested positive for Covid. His objection was not about that regulation. It was about the hypocrisy of the thousands crossing the border illegally, no definite testing protocol, no isolation and many released immediately on busses with destinations throughout the country.
