I watched the game live and then I rewatched it again last night. I read every thread on here concerning who gets the blame. This was definitely a group effort, from players, refs and coach. No way in hell should a competitive basketball team lose a 14 point lead in less than 2 minutes and 7 seconds. It amazes me the double standard that you folks have for Cuonzo and Odom. On one hand you have an inexperienced coach who makes inexperienced decisions and he gets hammered. On the other hand you have a 11 year coaching veteran, yet he always get the benefit of the doubt. When the football team loses a heartbreaker the ultimate responsibility falls on the head coach, but when the basketball team loses a heartbreaker it's everyone's fault but the coach.
I've never questioned Cuonzo's coaching ability, just his label of being a great recruiter, but after yesterday I do. For once, Tiilmon finally played a whole game and he wasn't used enough. You make them guards give Tilmon the ball. Every possession down the court Tilmon had his man sealed and the guards refused to give it to him in the post. Also, I hold my breath every time Tilmon comes set a screen up top. Why would you put him in that position when you know there's a great possibility that he'll end up picking up an offensive foul? That's bad coaching if you ask me. Also, I'm so sick of the Kim Anderson players excuse. In basketball you can flip a whole roster in 2 years if you wanted to.

For all the improvement you guys see in Geist, I wonder if you guys know his shooting percentage is basically the same as it was his previous 2 years, only difference is he's taking more shots. He's a very unaware player if you ask me. Yes he hits a few big shots, but he doesn't make the team better at all. Yesterday, he refused to let the other players make plays in the last couple of minutes. The problem wasn't so much Mizzou breaking the press, the problem was not attacking after breaking the pass. It's like they were fine with just getting the ball across halfcourt. You have to make them pay for pressing you, and you do that by getting quick scores. Geist had teammates open all game yesterday and he refused to give up the ball. He's the only player who can get away with murder on this team.

Lastly, you guys ought to be ashamed of yourselves the way some of you be attacking folks. Have a great day everyone.
