A few recruiting notes.
Schiffer's story on Felipe Haase visit here.
Schiffer also posted that Villanova is expected to visit and offer Anthony Mack and if they do he's likely headed there. So Missouri's fall recruiting is Haase or nothing as of right now.
On the football side, I checked in with Tyrik Henderson, who visited last weekend. It's his third visit and he told me it was good, but there really wasn't anything new. He didn't commit or anything, so it's not a situation where I feel like we need to write a story just for the kid to say "It was cool, campus was nice, I like it and everybody is even."
Another visitor who we thought was going to be in town but didn't make it was Texas A&M commit Tyree Johnson. Perhaps the visit will be rescheduled, I don't know for sure why he didn't make it. But I think it's also possible Johnson doesn't make the trip now.
Four-star Texas Eno Benjamin visited for the Georgia game. He wanted that kept quiet at the time and we respected those wishes. However, it appears he also wanted to keep it quiet from Iowa. They found out and moved on from him. The feeling at the time of the visit was that Benjamin was just kind of taking some trips and enjoying the process, but would stick with the Hawkeyes. Now that he's available again, Mizzou and Arizona State are the current leaders, but there is time for others to get involved.
Another four-star, Alabama commit and juco LB Gary Johnson, told us he will take an official visit to Mizzou. A source indicates that visit is likely to happen the weekend of November 25 when Mizzou plays Arkansas. We'll have a story on Johnson tomorrow.
Speaking of others getting involved, Oregon State, South Carolina and others are really pushing for Keisean Nixon. Have also heard Tennessee is trying to get involved. Competition is really picking up for this one. At one time we felt pretty good about Mizzou landing the juco corner perhaps even during his visit for the Arkansas game. Could still happen, but maybe a little less confident than previously.
Lastly, a source told me last night that Wisconsin is trying to make a run at Mizzou longsnapper commit Adam Bay. At this point, that's about all I know. We'll keep our ears open to see how receptive he is and if he schedules a visit at some point in the future.
That's what we have as of this morning. Will keep you up to date as things go on.
