Today's recruiting notes:
Schiffer's story on Gary Johnson, Alabama commit who will visit
Also, ICYMI, my story on Mizzou replacing Scherer and Beckner
On football recruiting, nothing else real new at this point that wasn't posted in yesterday's DDL. At this point, it's really looking like we're probably going to wait until late November before there's a lot of change on the landscape. Missouri has a lot to prove on the field to these kids and the bulk of the visits are going to happen after the season.
In hoops, the big news is the release of Carte'Are Gordon's top three:
This is the trio we expected. For a long time, we were hearing Kansas was on top and that's where most expected him to go. In fact, at one point, we were told to expect that to happen within a few weeks. However, things have now changed. Unfortunately for Missouri, we don't think the change means anything. We're hearing from multiple sources that SLU is likely in front and the probably destination at this point. Could it change again? Sure. That's what we're hearing today, though. Begin the freakout session.
But before you do, in case you haven't seen it, I rambled on with some thoughts on Missouri's defensive problems.
