As always we start with stuff you may have missed last night and this morning:

Notebook from football media day
CJ Roberts puts trust in Mizzou
Gooden enjoys first visit to Mizzou

Some news that was posted on the board, but not the front page:

Jeff Thomas did not visit. We're not sure why at this point. His teammate Rey Estes did.

Texas QB Alan Bowman did visit and said the trip was "awesome"

Missouri offered a different 2018 QB in Georgia's Justin Fields

The Tigers also offered 2018 hooper Christian Bishop from Lee's Summit West

*Want to address some big picture questions we've had in both sports. First of all, should there be disappointment that Missouri didn't land any commitments out of the recruiting weekend in football? I don't think so because there just weren't any kids we thought were going to pull the trigger going in. AJ Davis is going to take other visits. Terry Petry is committed to Houston already and if he's going to switch, it probably wasn't going to be during the visit. We have made multiple attempts to reach each of them (even had two different times set up to talk with Petry) but neither has answered yet. We'll keep trying.

*On the hoops side, where does the Roberts commitment leave things? As of right now, Missouri has one 2017 scholarship and two 2018 scholarships remaining. As always, the answer to the question "How many do they have left?" is "How many do they need?" In other words, don't worry about the specific 13 scholarship limit just yet. It always works out. The Tigers will try to get a frontcourt player for 2017 and then in 2018 you've got the in-state guys like Bishop, Torrence Watson (we'll have a story on his trip soon) and Carte'Are Gordon. That obviously isn't a comprehensive list, but it's a decent starting point.

*Normally in the DDL on Tuesday and Wednesday we break down three matchups to watch on Saturday. We're not doing that this week. There aren't any matchups to watch. Missouri should win this game by about as many points as it wants to. I'm not going to spend a lot of time breaking down Delaware State. The Hornets (learned that nickname yesterday) do have some good names on the roster though. Here are some highlights:

Abdul Kamal-Ajelero
Sika Bendolph
Tecumseh Bendolph
Ulises De Los Santos
Chuka Ezeuzoh
Garfield Heslop
Wisdom Nzidee
Sirjohn Ragland

Good luck Mike Kelly and Howard Richards

*We found out yesterday that a group of us will get some time with Jim Sterk on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. I'll have a post on the board with highlights and will post either a story or audio or maybe both afterward.

As always, we'll keep you all updated on whatever news happens throughout the day.
