Listening to 101 ESPN in STL...Randy K just said it was well known that The Mizzou AD at the time asked Jack Buck if he had any one in mind for the head coaching job. Jack told him not only did he know Dan Reeves but also knew Dan wanted the job. Dan felt like he would do well as a CFB Head coach since he didn’t believe he would get a shot in the pros (was a long time nfl asst). Also said Mizzou was a destination job for him. Instead, we went with Powers.
