Dave Matter, Mizzou beat writer for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and co-author of a new book with coach Gary Pinkel, was the guest speaker at the Tiger Club of Kansas City on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.
When Matter visited the Tiger Club last fall, he had just started the book project with Pinkel, Mizzou’s former football coach. Today, “The 100-Yard Journey: A Life in Coaching and Battling for the Win” is now available. On December 8, Pinkel and Matter will be at Barnes & Noble in Kansas City at 7 pm and on December 9 Pinkel will be at Rally House in Independence at 7 pm.
Matter, a 2000 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, began his career at the Columbia Tribune, where he covered the Mizzou football beat for 13 years. He then joined his hometown paper, the Post-Dispatch, when Vahe Gregorian left his position as the MU beat writer. Matter is based in Columbia.
The Tiger Club of KC meets every Tuesday at the Westport Flea Market Bar and Grill. Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. with the program beginning at Noon. Our Tuesday, December 5 guest speaker will be Mizzou softball coach Ehren Earleywine.
