The defense played OK last night. By OK, I mean by their standards they were average. They did not pressure Towles or hit him enough. They left way too many TFL's on the field. HOWEVER
We have a young defense that HAS TO pitch a SHUT OUT or come pretty damn close for this team to win. That is bullshit. The D played good enough to give our offense a chance to not step on their dick and win the game.
It was the same thing most of last season.
At some point, well right ****ing NOW, hopefully, stubborn ass Gary realizes Mauk is not the answer. And with a COMPETENT offense we can challenge for the East. Sure starting a true freshman at the most important position on the field is ballsy but continuing to play a guy that gives you no chance to have a competent offense is cowardly.
Quite frankly is isn't fair to have the defense busting their nuts to try and keep it close when the whole world knows Maty cannot get the job done.
Lock at least gives them hope.
