If they win both of those games, the CFP chatter will kick in. Even if they split those two, it’s still on. An 11-1 Irish team with wins over seven likely bowl teams – taking out Florida State, Ball State, Vanderbilt and Northwestern – might be okay on the resume as long as Michigan turns out to be fabulous. There’s no need to panic just yet – the Irish could absolutely lose to Wake Forest this week. Or, they could kick it in, improve, and get really good and sharpen up as the season rolls on."
