We spoke with a few head coaches after Laird Veatch's press conference. Drinkwitz was asked what it meant to see Robinson get drafted last night:
"Of all the events that have happened since the Cotton Bowl, that has been my favorite. You know, when you coach young men, you're trying to help them chase a dream. And you see the hard stuff, man, you see the tears, you see the hard work, the heartbreak. And for all of that to come together at this point, for him to realize his dream and for all of our guys, whether it's tonight or tomorrow night, to realize their dream, it's such a special thing. It's such a special thing and it's really why I coach football. It's about transforming these young men's lives and encouraging them to accomplish their dreams. And so for D-Rob, a guy who's been here so long, had many opportunities to leave, had many opportunities to transfer, could have went to the draft last year, for him to stay, to invest all the hard work, all the tears to be a first-round draft pick, man, it was a special moment and one that I'll never forget as a head coach."
