"First time I believe Mizzou has ever played Boston College. Excited about that schedule to really open up some recruiting grounds for us in the Northeast." "That’s a joke, guys.”
Seriously even though that's a joke we just don't have a long term plan that benefits us and Drink was favoring scheduling in areas we recruit.
Back in the old days the Administration was concerned about spending and was crazy tight with money, so we played the big name teams because they paid us.
Really the game against Boston College does nothing for our recruiting.
I like to use Iowa as an example, they play an in State rival schedule two easy games then benefit from the BIG 10 schedule because they heavily recruit Big 10 areas and have owned the State of Illinois and the Chicago area. Iowa has a plan.
Another thing, why do we a BRAND name team have to go to the little guys house? They should all come to us.
I think scheduling teams like Western Illinois, Southern Illinois, even Murry State, helps out of State Recruiting and we can pick up a win.
I don't have a problem with San Diego St because we do look at California JUCO's, and I have no problem with North Texas State we recruit Texas, Illinois St is fine with me, Louisiana is fine with me, Northern Illinois is fine with me, U Mass, the away game does nothing for us, the away game with Florida Atlantic is even ok with me because we recruit Georgia and Florida, I am fine with Troy, I am fine with Abilene Christian, Middle Tennessee is fine but why go there? Again we are the Brand name we get a bigger crowd here and bigger pay out here. At Memphis why? BYU and Army are nice but we really don't benefit from either game. If BYU goes to the Big 12 maybe we can get out of that game.

I know the history between Colorado, Kansas St, and Kansas but we really don't need them, other than tradition they don't benefit us.
