Excited to be in St. Louis

Memphis defense top ten in most categories, impressed with three-year starter at quarterback. GOing to have to play better than they played Saturday to win.

Brady Cook is still healing from a hyperextended knee. Mizzou did an MRI, no ligament damage. He will miss practice today and will be day to day this week.

Marcellus Johnson similar injury to his ankle, will be out today and day to day this week

Focused on moving past last week and focusing on this week. Have to ignore the positive just like you do the negative

On Cook, speaks to his toughness that he stayed in, swelling and bruising don't really happen until after you rest and sleep on it.

On Norfleet: Plays physical football, does a nice job catching the football. Biggest thing is just consistency, can't have lulls. Ahead of where they expected he would be blocking. Knew he had it in him but didn't know it would translate this quickly. "6-7, 250 translates pretty good"

Every game plan is unique. Memphis presents a different look than K-State so the plan from one game may not be the plan for the next one.

On forcing turnovers: "One in three games ain't exactly breaking the ice."

3/13 on third down: Not good enough. Several issues. Not being in good distance on third down. Had a protection issue on one, had a drop in the red zone. Some self inflicted, some execution, focus on both sides of the ball.

On St Louis kids: There's an excitement from the 18 guys to go back and play. Trying to beg, borrow and steal tickets from teammates.

On Burden: Route running has been his biggest improvement. Seeing the full complement of a WR. Really hard to press someone in the slot. His combo of being able to play horizontal or vertical has been big.

Chad Bailey: Played about 20 snaps, expect it to increase, but he can't play 60 snaps yet. Chuck Hicks has played really well and they need 3-4 linebackers rotating in. Missed that last year, basically played two guys the entire game. Would ultimately like to see 40-30

Memphis RB Blake Watson has game breaking speed, has run really well. Has helped open up the pass attack. Got exposed in QB run areas against K-State at times so that's a concern.

On Mizzou's run game: Went in expecting to throw first. Weren't anticipating a big day on the ground. Ran effectively when they had to. Didn't feel like the run game was bad, just more a game plan thing.

Asked how often he'd like to play in KC or STL. He said he didn't want anything he said to be taken the wrong way by anyone and said "Wherever they tell us to play we're excited to play."

On OL says they have to prepare at a high level every day. Connor Tollison has really improved. Xavier Delgado is the MVP of the OL because of his day to day preparation habits.

Drink said he's going to stay away from field goals in the 50s and focus on 60 yarders for Mevis from now on. Did say that he probably wouldn't have tried a FG from that distance if it wasn't the last play of the game.
