Lots of discussion around Geist being better than Dru. A few folks posted early in the game thread yesterday Dru was overhyped and/or Jordan was clearly better. Dru has been very good all year, but I wanted to see how to numbers stacked up. Maybe one issue is that the last four transfers we got that had a lot of "insider hype" were all explosive scorers (Kash, Barnett, Clarkson, Jabari). So when Dru's old school game doesn't jump off the screen it is easy to see why the drop in fans can watch a few minutes and make this type of generalization. I thought I would post the numbers here of JG's senior year the first 11 games vs. Dru's junior year after his first 11 games. People can draw their own conclusions from this 11 game sample size. Our 11th game last year was also vs. Illinois, but I would say Dru has done this vs. better competition. I am too lazy to look up relative strength of schedule thru 11 games this year vs. last year.
TL/DR - Dru Smith is slightly outperforming Jordan Geist and doing it against better opponents.
