Pure day dreaming on my part, but if Orgeron does not get the LSU HC job, I would hope Odom makes a strong push to bring him in as our DC and recruiting coordinator. The upside for us should be obvious, but Coach O is a Defensive Line guy, which fills a big need and would automatically make us better in recruiting.
He may want to be a HC, but is now over 55 and has been a HC three times with mixed results. We should be able to offer top dollar like we did for Heupel as OC. He would remain in the SEC and not too far from Louisiana with a chance to make a difference at a program. Also, Odom would likely be willing to let O do things his way and even take on some of his ideas.
