saw this posted by an Illinois insider on one of their boards about Liddell and thought it was worth sharing.
"There has been recent buzz around the Illini camp that Illinois might be creating some separation with top 2019 priority EJ Liddell. They have turned up the heat of late, and the response has been very positive. One source went as far as to say Illinois is "real close". Furthering the relationship with Underwood appears to be the biggest key. But the Illini definitely feel like they have Mom on their side."
One thing I will add is I have heard multiple times that Liddell's mom really likes Illinois alot. That's pretty much all I know personally.
