Pretty much going to break down my conversation with Macon below, will post a full story in the next day or so.
- Macon is a really humble kid and as I said earlier, he really enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about being a well-rounded quarterback from top college signal-callers and a couple of former NFL'ers in Trent Dilfer and Jordan Palmer. He said he learned a lot from Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields, who helped him with under center, play-action plays.
- He really enjoyed the Pro Day on Tuesday and felt he performed really well. He said he missed a couple of guys, but liked the high-pressure situation where all eyes were on him.
- Fellow East St. Louis teammate and WR target Keontez Lewis was also with Macon's family over the course of the three-day event. Lewis was one of the wide receivers that participated on Monday and Tuesday at the event. I saw him on Monday and thought that was Lewis, but confirmed it was today when I saw him among the spectators for today's gauntlet. Since I spent so much time talking to Macon, I didn't want to bother talking with Lewis since the event was over and it looked like they were ready to get back on the road home.
- Speaking of Lewis, Macon said he's feeling very confident about him and Dominic Lovett joining the class. Macon said he's also talking a lot with Kyran Montgomery as well and doing his part in trying to get him in the class.
- Interesting note on another target as well and one we've mentioned just recently, Bishop Kenny (Fla.) offensive center/guard Michael Myslinski, who is going to visit Missouri and check out the campus on July 10th. Macon said he's got a good relationship with him and is planning to meet Myslinski and his family in Columbia when they visit.
- I talked to Rivals.com analyst Woody Wommack today, who said he felt Macon definitely helped his stock with his Elite 11 showing, particularly on Tuesday with the Pro Day performance. He noted that Macon lived up to his current ranking and has a possibility to move up in the rankings when they are updated next which may not be until late August.
