Interesting that the leapfrogged the DL coach over the DC to be acting HC. Ed O did do a good job as acting head coach at USC, so makes some sense. Now they have made the Tight ends coach the OC. He had some experience as OC at P5 programs in the 90s but seems to have faded out and was coaching high school before going back to LSU.
I wonder how much unrest there might be over the selection? Recall Odom over Kul. At any rate there has to be major disruption among players and coaches. Yes the coaches may be pulling out all the stops hoping to get the gig permanently, but doubt LSU boosters would go for that.
The players? They too may be in a "let's show 'em" state of mind. But will the disruption interfere with planning for Mizzou? Will a rusty position coach thrust into OC be up to the task? Will there be unity among the coaching staff? Besides Fournet, there are several play on Sunday types on that team. Will they be about winning? Or taking care of themselves and looking only for their best interests?
