The Chamber is back this week with news and notes on football and basketball recruiting. As always, the Chamber is premium information for PowerMizzou.com subscribers, so please keep discussion confined to The Tigers' Lair.

Let's dive right in...

FOOTBALL RECRUITING

- Going to start with the 2016 offensive line targets that we told you all about yesterday.

Alex Losoya got his offer last night as we expected. He is heading to Texas Tech this weekend for an official visit. He doesn’t have an offer from the Red Raiders yet, but could pick one up while in Lubbock. The Mizzou coaches want Losoya to visit very soon and from talking with him yesterday it sounded like Losoya did as well. The visit could very well happen in the next week. Losoya went to Mater Dei with Jack Lowary so even before he visits he’ll have a pretty good idea what Barry Odom’s program is about.

Losoya looks to be an interior offensive lineman. Mizzou has issues all along the offensive line, but tackle seems a little more pressing at this time so we expect the Tigers to continue to look for help there.

Troy Roush has been talking with Glen Elarbee a little, but it does not sound like Mizzou is as far along in recruiting Roush as they are Losoya. Roush told PowerMizzou.com that he has spoken with Elarbee on the phone once. It sounded like the two were just getting to know each other and talking about where things stand. Roush said he’s hearing from a number of schools.

More targets will emerge at offensive line for 2016 and some running back targets will emerge too. As things stand Mizzou has one scholarship available. There is no question more could become available after spring ball. Eventually Clay Rhodes situation will become more clear and he will either be on the team contributing or Mizzou will be looking to replace him. The Tyrell Jacobs experiment should have a resolution soon as well. If he permanently moves to the offensive line it will be because he is better than any outside option the coaches could find.

- PowerMizzou.com caught up with several 2017 targets recently.

Nick Robinson has been talking with Josh Heupel basically every day according to the four-star tight end. He has interest in Mizzou and is planning to visit Columbia during the spring.

Toryque Bateman is still hearing from Glen Elarbee often. The three-star offensive tackle said he and the Tigers’ offensive line coach are building a good relationship. Bateman will visit Tennessee and Mississippi State soon and then visit schools farther away (like Mizzou) over the summer. Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Michigan, Miami (FL) and Mizzou are standing out, but there is still no time frame on a commitment date.

Trace Christian just picked up his Mizzou offer in the last couple days. He said at this point his interest in Missouri is cool, but he does want to visit and find our more about the Tigers. Christian has been talking with Cornell Ford and Greg Brown. Louisville, N.C. State, Mississippi State and Virginia Tech are standing out to three-star running back. He has no time frame on a commitment date.

Travis Etienne is another prospect Mizzou just offered. The two-star running back told PowerMizzou.com that he is very interested in Missouri.

Malik Davis also recently was offered by Mizzou. The tree-star running back is very interested in Missouri and was very excited to get his first SEC offer. He has been talking with Josh Heupel and Greg Brown. Davis said there are a few schools standing out to him, but he wants to visit Mizzou first. He would like to commit before the season, but there is no exact date.

Weston Bridges told PowerMizzou.com that he has interest in Mizzou, but isn’t sure how much yet.

Michael Young is very interested in Mizzou he said. The three-star wide receiver has been talking with several of the Missouri offensive coaches. He said there are no favorites at this point, but Mizzou will definitely be a school he looks at closely. A commitment will likely happen mid-summer or right before the season. No visits set up, but the Missouri coaches are working on getting him up to Columbia.

Jacub Panasiuk told PowerMizzou.com that Mizzou is towards the top of his list. He has been talking with Jackie Shipp. The three-star defensive end feels like he could play outside or three technique along the defensive line. Panasiuk wants to visit Mizzou, but nothing is scheduled yet and it could be tough for him to do during the evaluation period. His plan is to commit in June, but if he needs longer to make his decision he’ll take the extra time.

Elliot Baker is going to try and visit Mizzou this summer for sure he said. The junior college offensive lineman may also visit Mississippi State. No real time frame on a commitment. Baker will just know when it feels right.

Jacob Lichtenstein told PowerMizzou.com that he has a good amount of interest in Mizzou. The three-star defensive lineman has been talking with Greg Brown.

- There haven’t been a lot of visitors since spring break, but here is what we know.

Taylor Powell was in Columbia yesterday. He is a guy the Mizzou coaches have been evaluating for an offer at quarterback. At this point I’m not sure if he will get one or not. They obviously like him some since they had him visit. The three-star prospect has been talking with Josh Heupel and Glen Elarbee. It sounds like James Blackman, Johnathan Lewis, Alex Faniel and Lowell Narcisse could be ahead of Powell on Mizzou’s list. PowerMizzou.com was told recently that the Tiger staff has ranked nearly 100 quarterbacks in the last few weeks and offers could start going out at anytime.

Pompey Coleman will arrive in Columbia tonight and leave Sunday morning. The three-star offensive lineman is looking at a summer commitment. August at the latest he thinks. Coleman has nine Power 5 offers according to Rivals, but no official top schools.

There have been some reports that Robert Cooper is visiting this week. He told PowerMizzou.com again last night that nothing is set yet. What he said is he’ll decide on a visit by Saturday so that seems to indicate that there is not much of a chance he visits this week. Next week perhaps.

- PowerMizzou.com caught up with long time Mizzou commit Da'Ron Davis. He has been in frequent contact with the Mizzou coaches and has also received several handwritten notes from the offensive staff.

The new coaches still see Davis as a wide receiver in college and because of that he will be lining up out wide a lot more next season for Hogan Prep. He will be playing some basketball this summer, but his AAU coach understands that football is the priority so anytime Davis has a football related commitment he will miss basketball.

The No. 3 ranked player in Missouri plans to be in Columbia for the spring game on April 16.

BASKETBALL RECRUITING

- Frankie Hughes and C.J. Jackson are expected to be picked up in St. Louis around 3:30 p.m. today to start their official visits. PowerMizzou.com spoke with Willie Jackson last night for a story that will run tomorrow. He expects his teammate Frankie Hughes to commit to Mizzou this weekend. C.J. Jackson doesn't seem as likely to do so as well at this point.

- As of this morning there is nothing new on potential visits for Cheickna Dembele, DeShawn Corprew, Alpha Diallo or Kalif Young. Missouri is working to get all four in for official visits at some point. Dembele was recently offered by Syracuse.

- Jalen Harris has emerged as another option at point guard for Missouri. It's very early in the process between Mizzou and him, but we will follow any developments closely.

- As we posted earlier this week, with Hughes seemingly ready to commit Tyson Jolly is no longer an option for Mizzou. We've heard that the coaches don't feel like he is a good enough of a ball handler to pair with Jackson as spring period signees. The rest of their targets are.
