While it was obviously stupid in March when Biden used the Covid relief act passed only by Dems to continue paying unemployed people 300 bucks a week thru September on top of state unemployment. So people are making 25 bucks an hour sitting home (10500 of it tax free for what reason I can’t fathom ). So you can’t hire people on small businesses especially restaurants. Every restaurant you go by has a sign out. All kinds of bonuses and higher wages being offered etc. But businesses are having to close, shorten hours or otherwise hinder their business. Obviously if you can’t get cooks and wait staffs, it’s going to cause a less desirable experience. People will be bitching to Yelp about..”I had to wait 13 minutes between my escargot and the first course. The sparkling water bottle ran dry...blah fking blah”.
Instead the business owner should have a big sign with addresses in DC. “Please understand that we are doing everything we can to accommodate our customers. Because people are being paid to sit home under the Covid legislation passed recently it is impossible to fully staff. Please be kind to those staff members who do show up and make it possible to serve you. They are working as hard as they can. You might tell your representatives below that jobs are plentiful in this area and they should stop paying people not to work. We appreciate your business. “
