I’m buying into the youth movement by our football Tigers. If Odom can hold onto this recruiting class and continue to build on the promise of the last two classes I believe he deserves a chance to see this through. He’s turning around the program in the SEC not the Big Xii... That has to account for something assuming we can continue to see the kids play hard. This team has been decimated by poor recruiting and key losses on the DL (Loud, Brantley, Brady, Howard) which would have undoubtedly enabled the team to create some havoc in the backfield of opposing teams offenses. Our losses aren’t as bad as we’d like to think... South Carolina is solid not spectacular, Auburn just maybe a top 5 team, Purdue is a surprise and the loss was disappointing specifically what their defense did to our offense, Kentucky game was within our grasp and this team beat South Carolina. I’m not suggesting that I’m satisfied just that I think the kids want to play for Odom and Odom/staff know how to find their guys. This is essentially only his second class and I believe to make a solid decision on his future you have to have four classes on campus to see the trajectory of his program. This is assuming of course he can hold onto this class. The recruiting is solid and will only improve with more success on the field. I believe we will get back to what we have been accustomed to with Pinkel in having a program we can be proud of with a blue collar, lunch pail and hard hat mentality we have been blessed to witness under Pinkel.
PS- Heading up the 5 from San Diego to LA to watch my hometown Rams take on the Seahawks. Can’t stand Kroenke but hard not to like what’s going on in LA. I’m sure even a winning product on the field in LA will be at best the third most fan attended team trailing both the Lakers and Dodgers. Been out in San Diego for over 12 years and football just isn’t the same or here in So-Cal.
