Was talking last night with friends. Kentucky is obviously loaded and would be even more loaded with some current NBA talent as well had they stayed in school, but how much would you be looking forward to a UK vs Duke championship game of Duke had their current still college eligible NBA players still on the roster like the old days?

Duke would have added to their roster this weekend Austin Rivers, Jabari Parker, and Rodney Hood from the NBA. Kentucky would have added to their roster this weekend Archie Goodwin, Nerlens Noel, Julius Randle, James Young. Michigan St would still have Gary Harris. Wisconsin would have nobody added. Many college programs can play this what if game, but it really shows how much upper class talent used to be on many of the "great college basketball teams" most years 20-30 years ago compared to the last decade or so. It obviously effects the talent level overall and especially the experience and continuity levels on the best teams with good coaches. The trickle down of talent also helps evey team in the country too. Devin Booker for example may be on Michigan St or Mizzou had Kentucky not been signing as many players due to early exits. Think about it, there are 8 guys in the NBA right now that would probably be playing today in Indianapolis if it were 1985 when college basketball was as popular as ever when I was a kid.
