1. THIS STAFF CLEARLY HASN'T LOST THE LOCKER ROOM. That team didn't quit. Criticize away and yes it was a bad, bad season with a lot to dislike. But those kids didn't give up and they were rewarded for that.
2. THAT'S THE DREW LOCK THAT GIVES EVERYONE HOPE. He did what he hadn't done before: He led them from behind and he was a REASON for a win. Even in previous wins, it wasn't really because of him. Today it most certainly was. He was 9-13 for 212 yards and a TD after halftime and threw some passes that not a handful of other quarterbacks in the country can throw. This game needs to be a building block.
3. MARCELL FRAZIER, HAVE A DAY. I think he had three sacks, including at least part of the one on the last play. He had four tackles, all behind the line of scrimmage and a hurry. Frazier was a difference maker today. That's big.
4. J'MON MOORE DESERVES SOME CREDIT. Whether he did it on purpose or not, he covered Ish Witter's brain cramp of a fumble for Mizzou's only first half points. He also had 135 yards receiving and went over 1,000 on the year. He certainly had some down moments this year. He wasn't consistent. But the kid showed up the last two weeks and he put together a pretty nice season.
5. TAKE THAT NORTH END ZONE. Come on, you know you had the tweets and the posts ready. You know you thought the curse was going to continue. Best thing that's happened on that end of the field in a long time.
In closing, no this doesn't erase the season. It was still bad. But it gives you some hope. Two wins in the last three give you something to sell to recruits. You can say "we were a play against Georgia and a play against Middle Tennessee from bowling. We're not that far away." And you can say it with a straight face. This program and this coach needed that one.
