Tigers are a favorite to capture an NC in "college's hardest sport".

If you follow this week's conference tournament, here's what to look for:

A National Team Championship is based on points collected by the individual performances in each of the 10 weight classes. So, the more wrestlers that qualify for the trip to Saint Louis, in two weeks, the more chances for points. DUH!

The NC allows 33 wrestlers in each of the 10 classes. 27 of those receive automatic berths based on performance in there conference tournaments. Six at large bids are awarded in each class The NCAA designated the number of bids each conference receives base on several performance factors too numerous for this primer. For more details you can go to the MAC website.

Six of our guys are, barring injury or disqualification, Virtual Locks for an appearance at Scott Trade. We do, however, have a very good chance to send the entire team. Here's how it breaks out:

Alan Waters (125#) is seeded 1st in Tournament, 1st in Nation* *According to InterMat Wrestling.

Lavon Mayes (141#) 2T 5N

Drake Houdashelt (149#) 1T 3N

Joey Lavallee (157#) 2T 4N

Johnny Eblen (174#) 1T 5N

J'Den Cox (197#) 1T 1N

Here's what's required of the 4 remaining wrestlers: None of the following are ranked high enough nationally to receive an at large bid.

Zach Synon (133#) Must win his weight class. He's seeded #1 in the tournament and the MAC only receives 1 automatic bid in this weight class.

Mikey England (165#) Seeded #5 but only needs to finish 4th or better-MAC has 4 automatic qualifiers in the class.

Willie Micklus (184#) Seeded #1 and must make finals. 2 automatic berths

Devin Cassell (HWT) Seeded #1 and must finish in top 4 for an automatic berth.
