How in the hell could I fall for the same jig three years in a row?
2014-15: Close losses to Illinois and Oklahoma State. Beat LSU (Hey, you know, maybe there's a little something there). Go on ahead and lose 13 in a row in a shitty, shitty SEC ... by an average of 15 ppg.
2015-16: Hang with Xavier for a half (Hey, maybe these freshmen have a little something). Promptly get blown out by a terrible K-State team and get embarrassed by Northwestern in front of your KC Mizzou fans. And then go on ahead and put up a 10-spot in a horrible league once again.
2016: OT loss to a disinterested Xavier squad and I somehow bought into the "Hey, maybe these freshmen and sophomores might grow into something if Kim gets a chance". The next game is literally over before the first TV timeout, just like the K-State game last year.
I so wanted Kim to do well. Would have been a great story. Norm disciple resurrects the struggling program. But as the saying goes, "you can want in one hand and shit in the other and see which hand gets filled up faster". Got a lot of shit on our hands right now.
