I see several posters here lamenting the state of the program. Some of you are speculating on what it may look like in a couple years (while ignoring what we are actually accomplishing now), which is silly. Especially knowing what we know about the transfer portal in recent years. So looking back at all the coaches who were hired the same year as Martin, who is significantly more accomplished at their new spot? Which one of those coaches are in a considerably better position than us moving forward?

Brad Underwood (Illinois 59-54) - They are really good this and by far his best year. Assuming they would have made the tourney last year, he's looking at his 2nd tourney appearance in 4 years. They will lose their 3 best players this year and only have one kid (Goode - #107) committed. He's also 1-3 vs Martin

Archie Miller (Indiana 64 -51) - Really having a tough year, despite having one of the best players in the country in TJD. Not a tourney team this year, so likely 1 tourney apps in 4 years as they were projected a 10 seed last year. He has one guy committed for next year

Pat Ewing (Georgetown 54-54) - Hes been awful. Likely 0 tourney appearances in four years, a litany of transfers that derailed a season. They have some nice pieces coming in, but hes really done nothing with some highly rated players the years prior.

Mike Hopkins (Washington - 66-52) - They are 3-13 this year and his only tourney appearance was in 18-19. They have one commit in the 21 class. They should have a decent group returning, but they are 3-13 in year 4! I thinks its fairly safe to say there would be a consensus here that Martin should be fired if he was 3-13 in year 4, regardless of who was returning.

Kevin Keatts - (NC State - 72-41) - Hes done a nice job of racking up wins for subpar opponents. They were 50th in KP last year and projected as an 11 seed, so squarely on the bubble. Never had a top-40 KP team and appears to be outside of the tourney talks this year at 8-7. They will lose 2 of their top 3 scorers but have a couple top 100 kids coming in. Nonetheless, if we are sitting at 8-7 the pitchforks would be out.
