Four Sept. home games in a row question

Sorry if this has already been asked and answered but has there ever been an explanation given as to how we ended up with four home games in a row? This has to have had a substantial impact on attendance, particularly for out of towners. Just seems like such an unforced error for us at a time when we cannot afford any.
