It's often said Bob Gibson was the toughest competitor of that era but Robinson wouldn't be far behind. The NL use to put an All Star OF together of Aaron, Mays, Clemente and Robinson. It's amazing to think one of those guys would be on the bench. Hint-It was never Willie Mays.
