I read somewhere on here that the Porter’s were pooling their money together. Everything earned from every family member into 1 place.
Having said that, the average g-league salary is $35,000 for most players and up to $385,000 for two-way contracts.
Just looking from this angle, the most Jontay could make in the G league is $385,000, after bonuses and his pro rated rookie salary? That’s the way I take it.
Dad’s already earning $375,000 per year.
Jontay would more than likely have to spend a year or two in the g-league, IMO. I doubt he would max out in his earnings the first year.
Would this be a legitimate reason to stay another year? If the family is pooling it’s money, would 1 more year of dad’s salary be more than Jontay’s getting into his earning potential 1 year early? What am I missing?
