I think I'm very much an optimist when it comes to our Tigers, but how is that we're a 2.5 point favorite vs South Carolina when all of the pundits are picking the Gamecocks to win and our defense looked pathetic against a middling FCS foe at home last week while South Carolina notched an impressive win vs NC State on a neutral field last Saturday? As Joe aptly pointed out this morning, our offense has proven to run up great stats against FCS or small school opponents in the recent past but not against legitimate competition, so one can't assume that the same will happen with an SEC foe on that side of the ball.
I'm guessing this is the line Vegas has set to attract equal betting money, but I don't see how the world is not loading up on the Gamecocks at that spread.
