I had a strong inclination this was coming on the kansas side of the state line here in the KC metro. My dad and sister live just on the other side of the state line in south Overland Park. They are represented by someone who doesn't share their same sociopolitical values; same as many residents of southern Johnson County, kansas. It will be interesting to see if kansas's state legislature can drum up enough votes to override an assured veto of the new Congressional districts map by its Democrat governor.
It would be a dream come true for the Missouri redistricting committee to do likewise in the KC metro area, where Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver has a stranglehold on his Congressional seat (MO-5th District) and will be followed shortly thereafter by KC's current mayor, Quinton Lucas. Here's a link to an interactive map showing the current MO legislative districts. You'll need to change the visible layers using the tool in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
Just look at that mess on the west side. The city of Lee's Summit alone is split into three separate districts! The maps should be redrawn to split the greater KC metro area between the 5th and 6th Congressional districts. Is St. Joseph mostly Democrats or Republican voters, generally? Maybe the committee can snake the urban KC area up to St. Joseph to make the numbers work? I'm just making shit up right now. Let's be real here about what's important; ridding ourselves of another Democrat rubber stamp in Congress. I want a legit US Rep representing me in Congress. My team won. To the victor goes the spoils. Let's do this.
And here's a few recent articles on redistricting happenings in other key states too.

Republicans Gain Heavy House Edge in 2022 as Gerrymandered Maps Emerge
On a highly distorted congressional map that is still taking shape, the party has added enough safe House districts to capture control of the chamber based on its redistricting edge alone.

G.O.P. Cements Hold on Legislatures in Battleground States
Democrats were once able to count on wave elections to win back key statehouses. Republican gerrymandering is making that all but impossible.
