Thank you so much for your support of Mizzou Athletics and the Mizzou Men’s and Women’s Golf programs. Both the men’s and women’s golf teams are coming off NCAA Tournament appearances last spring and continue to consistently compete at a high level in the most competitive conference in America. Your support plays an integral role in that success and we can’t thank you enough.
This year, as in every year, we are constantly seeking ways to improve the Mizzou student-athlete experience for our men’s and women’s golf teams. One area we’ve pinpointed as an immediate need is a Sprinter van to get to and from tournaments, airports and recruiting trips. As of now, we ride in 15 passenger vans to transport the entire team and all of our equipment. The current vans are outdated with no amenities, cramped spaces and worn interiors.
To enhance the student-athlete experience at Mizzou, we’re hoping to obtain a Sprinter van. On our travels to tournaments, we often see other schools with these vans, and right now we’re the only SEC school without one. The vans will make long trips more enjoyable, offering more space and comfort. They also provide Wi-Fi access, which would be extremely beneficial for our student-athletes, who need to study and work on their academics on trips. Additionally, the vans provide a key unique branding opportunity for Mizzou. They are hard to miss with an exterior that’s decked out in Mizzou branding. That can help make our presence known on the recruiting trail as we seek to find the next generation of standout Mizzou golfers.
