Okay, you all know I am old, so you might not want my concert advice, but if you want to hear a group headed for great things, go to Off Broadway in St. Louis, Monday, March 5, Rose Music Hall in Columbia, Tuesday, March 6, and at Lindberg's Tavern in Springfield, Wednesday, March 7 to experience The Accidentals.
The Accidentals are a Sony Masterworks recording group--two 20-something young ladies from Traverse City, Michigan, and Interlochen Academy of Arts--and a 20-something guy drummer. They are coming through Missouri on their way to SXSW in Austin. We have had the chance to hear them three times during the last two summers in Michigan and really love their music and lyrics. They play three instruments each: cello, violin, bass, guitar, mandolin and banjo. Incredibly talented.
Two weeks ago, they were in KC for the International Folk Alliance and we had the opportunity to host them for dinner. They are smart, funny, a little nerdy and did I say talented? (And they sit up straight and clear their dishes. Obligatory old white girl comment.)
They are a Tribune top pick for March: http://www.columbiatribune.com/entertainmentlife/20180226/marchs-cant-miss-concerts
Here's the website with tour details: https://www.theaccidentalsmusic.com
The St. Louis show is all ages so if you know aspiring young musicians, take them with you.
KC folks: They will be at Knuckleheads on April 25.
