PowerMizzou this year is helping to sponsor the Big Brothers, Big Sisters Countdown to Kickoff event at the Columns Club overlooking Faurot Field on August 26th. As a part of that sponsorship, Big Brothers, Big Sisters has been kind enough to provide us a few tickets to the event to get some of our subscribers there. I'll be doing a few different things over the summer and today is the first of those.

Today's winner will receive four tickets which will not only get you access to the main event, but also to the special Chancellor's Reception with Mun Choi prior to the main event. Here are the details on what to expect:

  • Coach Drink will speak for 15-20 minutes about the opponent, season, and field questions from attendees
  • 125+ silent auctions items (tons of Mizzou stuff and memorabilia)
    • Live auction with 10-15 higher-end items
  • There’s also an extra “Chancellor’s Reception” an hour before—Chancellor Choi will be there for a “meet and greet” with attendees
The event with President/Chancellor Choi will begin at 4:30 in the Chancellor's Suite. The main event begins at 5:50 in the Columns Club.

Were you to buy these tickets on your own, they would cost about $220. Instead of that, here's what I'm asking in exchange for four tickets: I'd like you to make a $100 donation to one of two entitites

Donate to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Central Missouri

OR

Donate to the PowerMizzou Journalism Alumni Scholarship, our endowed scholarship through the journalism school which comes with a PM internship for a minority student interested in a career in sports journalism.

The first person to reply here willing to do that will have first claim to the tickets. I'll then need a screenshot or a confirmation email of the donation emailed to me at powermizzou@gmail.com. Once I've received that confirmation, I will forward you the information as to how to access your digital tickets to the event on August 26th.

Just to be clear: The FIRST person to do reply here is going to get the tickets as long as that person follows through on the donation. While both destinations for your money are worthy causes and I would be thrilled for anyone to donate, I just want to be clear that the first responder is going to get the chance at the tickets so that I don't have people immediately making a donation and then asking my why they didn't get the tickets.
