It's tough to imagine Missouri will be worse than that in any half this year. I mean, they were dreadful. They made five shots all half. Thank goodness for the free throw line where they made the first eight or they might not have hit double figures.
Reed Nikko was the best offensive player. He was 2/3 for 4 points and 7 rebounds.
Coming into this game, I said my worry was Mizzou playing two freshmen bigs against experienced Utah guys. Now you see why. Jeremiah Tilmon and Jontay Porter were not good at all...and they had plenty of company in that.
I feel like Blake Harris was maybe the best guard Missouri had. He didn't do a ton, but he got in the lane a few times and I didn't notice him getting torched on defense, so that made him the best one.
Missouri isn't going to be competitive with much of anybody when Kassius Robertson, Jordan Barnett and Kevin Puryear go 0/13 in a half. Barnett has been invisible...which actually makes him quite a bit better than the other two so far.
All of that happened and Utah tried to let Mizzou hang around for about 12 minutes. The Tigers just refused to do it.
Don't tell me about the refs. Missouri has been so awful it renders any officiating questions you might have completely irrelevant.
One caveat: This is a game where Michael Porter Jr. could make a lot of things look different. He's a guy that can rescue from a bad offensive possession or night. Would be good to have him.
Tough to see this one ending up close, but who knows?
