It feels like it should be more. Missouri has controlled this game. Florida has 153 yards of total offense, but 61 of them came on one play. The Gators have sustained basically nothing.
Offensively, Missouri has three scoring drives, but has settled for two field goals in the red zone. Once they threw on first down at the 9, which I didn't like. The second time the drive was derailed by your weekly snap issue. It happens once every game. Missouri has usually overcome it.
All that said, there's a sense of comfort in watching this Missouri team. Should they be up more? Probably. But you no longer watch this team expecting something bad to happen. You trust them. Because they've earned that over ten weeks. That''s not a guarantee or anything. It's a six point game and who knows what's going to happen. I'm just saying that you're not sitting here thinking "Oh my God they've blown so many chances you just know it's going to burn them." Missouri is better than Florida. It should win this game.
Cody Schrader: 15 carries, 123 yards. Fourth straight 100-yard game. Second week in a row he's done it by halftime.
The passing game doesn't really look very good at all other than the short passes to Brett Norfleet. But you just get the sense they're setting up play action at some point. Who knows if it will work, but I expect a deep shot on first down in the third quarter at some point.
Florida is really poorly coached. Three false starts, a delay of game, using timeouts at the wrong time, declining a 10-second runoff to just hand the ball off at halftime. I don't know what they're doing.
Bottom line: You're not playing for style points. You're just playing for two wins. It doesn't matter if it's by one point or 30. Win the game. I still think Missouri will do that.
