I get all the negativity guys. I promise I do. There were some things about that half that were just utterly dreadful and this team isn't very much fun to watch most of the time.
That said, it's a six-point game and Missouri is getting the ball. You can't win the game in the first half, but you can lose it. Missouri avoided losing it.
Defensively, I actually think they've played pretty well when they've managed not to jump offsides (minus the one play by Benny Snell). I know you can't just take away plays. Missouri makes some good plays on defense. They just can't string enough of them together to get off the field.
Offensively, it was really ugly at times. But you want to know why Drew Lock is the quarterback and is going to stay the quarterback? Because he made two throws that fewer than ten guys in the country can make. It's not possible to throw a better ball than he did on the touchdown to J'Mon Moore. And the one to Hall went about 60 yards in the air. Off his back foot. With a man in his face. I get all the frustrations with him. In fact, the frustration exists precisely BECAUSE he can make those throws. If he just wasn't any good he wouldn't drive you nuts. It's that he can be unbelievably good...and then unbelievably bad.
Shout out to Ish Witter. Kid's played a nice half.
Shout out to Terez Hall. Same.
It hasn't been pretty, but they're down six points getting the ball at half and Kentucky doesn't put anyone away and is putting together a fairly ugly game itself so far. Missouri will take that. 30 minutes left on the road to see what this team is made of.
