A win over Arkansas is extremely important for many reasons. It keeps this magical turnaround going, gives us a recruiting advantage over rival teams, gives us steam heading into the bowl game, sets up next year with a running start and gives our younger players confidence for the future. It also gives us more positive national exposure. It may even set the Razorbacks further backwards. A win also distances us further away from colleges that are struggling like Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas, Tennessee and Arkansas (all of which happen to be border states/schools). A win builds a winning streak against Arkansas and adds to our SEC winning streak. A loss is not necessarily devastating but surely pops the bubble on a lot of good potential benefits. The least of which is just another win.
Like many of you I am hoping for a big win on Friday, mostly so the coaches can leverage this during the winter recruiting. A six game winning streak and upcoming bowl game make for some great recruiting weapons that many schools simply can't use.
