As it turns out, Heupel was finalizing a deal to become Frost’s successor at Central Florida.
“I said, ‘Something’s up. I don’t know what’s going on, but if they’re going to waver on this deal, let’s go to Nebraska,’” Tony said. “We changed it because (Mizzou) didn’t buy the tickets and I’m really thankful we didn’t make that trip.”
