Let me begin by saying I am no conspiracy theorist. However, seeing how every big call went against us down the stretch versus Georgia and Kentucky, it got me thinking: when was the last time anybody can remember a poor or controversial call going in Mizzou’s favor in an important football or basketball game that helped Missouri win?
In 35 years of being an MU fan, the only one that comes to mind for me was a second round game in the NCAA Tournament in 2009 versus Marquette. Tie game in the final minute, and J.T. Tiller (I think) was fouled in what seemed like a lousy call, and was unable to shoot the free throws. Mike Anderson had Kim English substitute for Tiller, he knocked down both shots, and we advanced to the Sweet 16. I remember the Marquette coach blowing his stack, but for once, a controversial call went MU’s way. Anybody remember any others?
