I believe part of this from Puryear was also in Vahe's excellent column linked in another thread.

Of the coach, Missouri junior Kevin Puryear put it best: “To be honest with you, he’s brought things out of us all that we didn’t even know we had in ourselves.

“Really just instilling a culture in all of us. Having two rough seasons we had, he could’ve easily been like, ‘OK, we’re going to put these guys (aside),’ … but he knew from Day One that we were talented and we were capable of doing what we’re going to do. I think we’re really a reflection of him, as far as how tough we play. I have a tremendous amount of love and trust in him.”

It looks like the holdover players might be Cuonzo's biggest fans. I have to believe CVL and Geist are fans since he's ignored the advice of most of the fans about them.
