The 1969 Tigers, led by quarterback Terry McMillan and coached by Dan Devine, were a team for the ages: Victories over No. 9 Michigan, No. 7 Nebraska and No. 9 Oklahoma. A 69-21 thumping of kansas. A thrilling 41-38 Homecoming win over Kansas State. Conference champions. Two heartbreaking losses, to No. 5 Colorado and Penn State in the Orange Bowl. A final ranking of No. 6 in the AP Poll. Missouri Sports Hall of Fame (as a team).

McMillan was the guest speaker at the Tiger Club of KC on Tues., Jan. 23, 2024. He came to the Tigers in 1968 after two years at Joplin Junior College (now Missouri Southern State University).
